Our Commitment to Privacy
EduAiGen is committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users and their data. This policy outlines our practices concerning the collection, use, and protection of personal information. We do not sell or rent user data to third parties. Our business model is based on providing valuable educational tools through subscriptions, not on monetizing user data.
Federal Law Compliance
FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)
FERPA protects the privacy of student education records. EduAiGen is fully compliant with FERPA regulations:
- We do not collect or store any student education records or Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from students.
- Our platform is designed for teacher use. Any content generated is owned by the teacher and is not considered a student record under FERPA unless integrated into the school's official records by the teacher.
- We do not share any user data without explicit consent, except as required by law.
COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act)
COPPA applies to online services directed to children under 13. EduAiGen is designed for and marketed to educators and adults over the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
- If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
- We do not use tracking technologies for advertising purposes within our core services.
CIPA (Children’s Internet Protection Act)
CIPA requires schools and libraries receiving E-rate discounts to implement internet safety policies. While EduAiGen is a content generation tool for teachers, we support CIPA's goals by:
- Ensuring our AI models are configured with safety filters to block the generation of harmful or inappropriate content.
- Operating as a professional tool for educators to create materials, which they can then use within their school's CIPA-compliant infrastructure.
New York State & NYC Compliance
NYS Education Law §2-d
We are fully compliant with New York State's stringent student data privacy law:
- All user data and generated content are encrypted in transit and at rest.
- We have designated personnel responsible for data protection and privacy compliance.
- We maintain a comprehensive Data Security & Privacy Plan (DSPP).
- We fully support the NYS Parent Bill of Rights for Data Privacy and Security and will cooperate with school districts to ensure its provisions are met.
- No student, teacher, or principal PII is used for commercial purposes or sold.
NYC DOE Vendor Requirements
We are committed to meeting the requirements for vendors serving the NYC Department of Education. This includes adhering to cybersecurity standards, accessibility guidelines based on WCAG 2.1, and cooperating fully with any necessary risk assessments.
